Mr. Garity has 30 years of experience as a real estate consultant. He formed RECS in 2001 after 22 years in the Real Estate and Hospitality Consulting Practice at KPMG Peat Marwick in Los Angeles. While at KPMG, he was Partner in Charge of the Western Region Real Estate and Hospitality Consulting Practice and the National Corporate Real Estate Consulting Practice.
Experience
Mr. Garity has advised hundreds of companies regarding real estate strategy, investment analysis and transaction support. He has assisted in the valuation, development and disposition of portfolios of real estate assets and mortgages totaling over $5 billion in the U.S., Japan and Korea, including major land developments in several states in the Western U.S. and Hawaii. He has consulted with developers, owners, operations and lenders on residential, commercial, hospitality and gaming projects. His technical expertise includes strategic planning, investment analysis, process improvement, application technology, expert witness testimony and litigation support.
Mr. Garity is a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit
Committee of Lodgian, Inc. a publicly traded, leading hotel
owner/operator company of full-service hotels in the United States.
Education
Mr. Garity holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelors of Business Administration from University of Massachusetts.
Service
For over ten years, Mr. Garity has served on the Board of Directors of 211 LA County in various capacities including Treasurer. This nonprofit organization is the 24/7 provider of information and referral services to people in need in Los Angeles County.
Mr. Garity has lectured at UCLA and USC on real estate development planning and for ten years served the Building Office Managers Association as the author of the Los Angeles County office market trends report.
